With what’s going on in Boston right now though, the weather seems appropriate. I’m talking about the trial of the convicted Boston Marathon bomber. They’re in the sentencing phase now. The prosecution just rested. All week long, they showed gruesome pictures and called up survivors and their families to testify. Each of these brave people told one heartbreaking story after another. Their pain was palpable and their stories left me bereft. I couldn't escape the coverage, and it didn't feel right trying to avoid it.
The heartache I feel this week is worse than what I felt in April 2013. Maybe that’s what most of Boston is feeling too, and that’s why we’re covered with the mournful gray sky, chilly temperatures and just overall bleak weather. It seems fitting.
